Photorefractive materials are being widely investigated for applications in holographic data storage1. Inhomogeneous illumination of these materials with an optical interference pattern redistributes charge, builds up internal electric fields and so changes the refractive index.

Place for Visualization and Visual analysis

The challenging goal of VisionPoint Portal is to disseminate all the knowledge gained through experience of applying real time 3D visualisation systems to scientific and artistic domains, as well as exchange useful information and report activities and new established know-how’s within the visualization community.

The first phase of the VisionPoint portal was to build an Informational website, that provides information about Programmes (Scientific Computing and Visualization), an Visualization News section up to date with relevant information about visualization technologies, and Events section whose aim is to inform about upcoming events in visualization related fields (conferences, symposiums, workshops, seminars...).

The second phase of the portal development is to build an Operational website which will additionally feature a full VisionPoint running application(s) interface, as well as a generally available demonstration area. The VisionPoint portal was developed with Joomla!
